Can anyone recommend a decent cold weather riding glove?  I've
suffered for years with my light leather gloves in the fall and early
spring and I've pretty much had enough.  I definitely need gauntlet
style.  If anyone in the southern Maine area knows of a place where I
can actually try them on please chime in - the bike shops near me
really don't stock much at all.

Thanks!

A good pair of leather ski gloves will work, and might be easier to find for you.

I have two pairs of winter gloves.  For the last
10 years or so I'v been using some Harley brand
leather gauntlets.  Very warm and durable.  But
not so weather resistant.

Last winter I bought a pair Gerbings battery
powered gloves.  These are very warm, and the
battery lasts a long time.  I'v ridden in the rain
once or twice with them.  Seem to be pretty
waterproof.

The big trick in staying warm is keeping the wind
off you.  Last year I finally bought a pair of
hand guards.  This makes a huge differance.  I can
wear my thin leather gloves down into the mid 50's
and still be plenty warm.

Doesn't matter where you live, really.  Look in
the catalog and find what you want.  Then have it
shipped to your door.  Generally cheaper than
going down to a bike shop and buying them.

Here's a follow up question on the gloves,
Has anyone else experienced cramping from using lined or padded gloves? My
regular riding gloves are thin leather. My cold weather cloves have a little
bit of padding and have a breathable liner. It makes the handgrips feel a
bit larder in diameter and after a couple hours, I get hand cramps.
Thoughts? and have a Dairy Queen Blizzard on me.
Cheers,
