A round for all, coffee for me right now...

Rode over to the Tampa VA this morning.... At road speed the bike was
great! Not a miss, crack or pop. Got off the interstate and got into some
traffic. The engine started to act up.. The engine light kept coming on
and it would not idle.
Some times I sure miss a carburetor...
03 Roadking Standard... 39,000 miles ....

Had this problem once before and it was the intake seals. But that time it
even had problems at road speed. The bike is pretty much all I use for
transportation.. Just need some input please... BTW is there a way that
the owner set the computer back to factory settings

Since the check engine light was coming on the computer should have
stored an error code. I don't have it available for your model, but
somewhere on the net is the procedure for reading your error codes. See
where those point.

Here's a link I just found that may lead you in the right direction
concerning tracking down the error codes:

Got it I will check it out. I do hate to think that the seals have lasted
only 2 years.. But then again, it is probably a job that the new kid in the
shop gets to do...lol

A well-known person in these parts used to go through seals every 5000
miles. He would notice the problem at highway speeds as well as in town.
The other thread going on right now about spraying wd-40 may be worth
reading.

Too bad the Harley dealer will not "read the codes" for ya like Auto Zone.
Took the wife's Saturn in there, They hooked up the reader and it told me
just what I needed. Water temp sensor...

Will try the WD 40 thingy (Water Displacement formula #40, worked real
well on rocket seals in the late 50's and early 60's)
