Memphis has good food!  There is a style and flavor that exists here
that I have found nowhere!    In my 25 years in Vegas I never tasted
some of the good food I get here.

I do not work for these guys, I am receiving nothing for this post.  I
just want to get the word out on these great guys!!

At 1964 S. Third, Memphis there is a restaurant called Captain JJ's.
They serve Fish and Chicken, and WOW, is it great!    They even have a
daily special with 10 piecesof chicken (legas and thighs), fries, slaw
and a two liter of soad for only $4.99!   They have catfish plates,
chicken plates, and so much more!  The place is clean, very well lit
and full of nice people.  Its across from the Kroger at Southgate.

I went there tonight and was very favorably impressed. Great food,
good price and even the cops eat there! :)

ok, I'll shut up now. :)

I'm tryin' to decide if this is spam ... and it sure looks like it is . I
live in Memphis , and no caucasian with a lick of sense will be in that
neighborhood after dark . Plus the fact of the matter is Memphis is NOT
known for it's fish , but for BBQ . Technically "smoked pork with barbecue
sauce" , but we sure as hell ain't known for fish .
I can take you to several places that serve BBQ that'll make you slap yo
Mama , and as far as I know not a single one serves fish ... it's ribs and
shoulders pulled or chopped ,  and you might get a hamburger , but no fish .
Don't forget the slaw on your sandwich , it's part of the mystique .

I think you're right Snag... I just checked Google maps and it's showing a
closed down business which used to be JR Fish & Chicken... so this guy's
spammin' the new place...

Well , not to stereotype but fried chicken would be a big mover in that
part of town ... but at $4.99 for 10 pieces plus sides they gotta be losing
money .

Which is kinda funny and pathetic when you think about it. Spam on Usenet
these days is like putting up a billboard in the middle of a Greer lake.
Sure a couple people 'might' see it...but they'd be too drunk to read it.
