A guy at a H-D dealership told me this morning that Harley had bought
Ducati. I've Googled it to death and all I can find is some gossip about it
but nothing dated after June 2007. There was nothing about it in the last
stock holders report.
Anyone know the straight scoop?

That rumour's been around awhile. In a climate like this with the dollar so
devalued to the Euro and MoCo stock at 5 year lows, it's certainly within
reason that Duck could buy 'em out. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

True, MoCo is lower than 5 years ago, but so are a lot of other stocks.
When you look at MoCo's (and other stock such as PRU and MET), the long
term trend is going up.
I just looked and MoCo is trading at $39.44. Five years ago it looked
to be around $43 or $44. In late 06 it was up over $70 per.
Hell, MoCo had 3 stock splits between 1990 and 1995 and two after that.
Buy on bad news, sell on good.

Actually, looking at the stock charts of the aforementioned stocks (or any
investment), the long term trend is NOT going up. The chart only shows
historical trends, not future trends. Common misconception though.

Uhhh, I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about that.
