Hi guys,

maybe some of you recall a guy from Italy who used to ride a V-Rod and
wrote under the nick of "Orso Balù" (Baloo Bear).
Well, it's me again :)
Unfortunately, I don't ride my beloved V-Rod anymore, so I don't think I
really belong here, and actually have been thru a couple of marriages
after that, one with a GoldWing, and now with an Honda XLV 1000
"Varadero".
First, I wanted to say hello to everybody, especially to those ones who
still remember me.
Second: once I inquired about Iron Butt, after I read a book about it -
well, actually I think I read it at leat four or five times in a row,
maybe more. I was answered by Ira Agins or Mike Kneebone themselves.
After a few years, I managed to perform a SaddleSore 2000K ride, and
applied for it. It took a while, but in the end it was acknowledged and
now I'm proud to say that not only I'm a member of IBA, but that
apparently it seems that I'm the first Italian to qualify for such an IBA
ride :)))))))))

I'll post the whole report as soon as I have time to lay down a blog
a video can be found here:

there are also a few photos taken with 2 Ukrainian girls on the bike, but
since they are not for kids I ain't sure whether I can post the link or
not

Carlo aka Orso Balù

PS: for those interested in more details: I rode all the way from Odessa,
Ukraine, to Milan, Italy, crossing a couple of boundaries and at one
point getting lost somewhere in the middle of Croatia - or was it
Slovenia? Well, I was lost, so I can't tell it for sure. The whole ride
was actually almost 2300 km in 26 hours, of which the first 2000 km
qualified for the SS 200K

 Carlo aka Orso Balù sed:

I remember... welcome back.  Glad you're doing well.
Doesn't matter what you ride...

<snip some>

Very good... the only problem with Iron Butts in Europe is not having enough
room to just go... without having to stop at border crossings and toll
booths!.
The good thing would be no speed limits in Germany!  If you just ran from
the North to South {and back}, from The Netherlands to Switzerland, you
could do it pretty quick!

POST them.  We're all adults here... well, mostly.

Very nice... how did you like Milan?  I love Milan.  I loved every place
I've been in Italy.

I loved it!  Just was a little excitable running on empty.

I guess I didn't like Pisa...
I just got ANOTHER ticket.
Driving in a no driving area?
What the fuck?
119 Euros.... fuck 'em.
Come get me.
