I'm typing this on a computer in my server room , which is remotely
controlling my desktop which is in the living room because the grandkids are
in there asleep . When I try to play music files on this unit , (just this
box , not controlling another) I can't get any sound . And yet while in
remote control of the other comp , I'm getting normal sound .
As a matter of fact , I'm listening to DAC as I type . Before you suggest
the sound card , it's *gotta* be working or I'd be listening to a roaring
silence ... I think I must have a setting wrong , but cannot for the life of
me figure out what it is .
Shirley's comin' round with Mexican Depth Charges whilst y'all ponder this
. <glug-slurp-glug-URP>
{If it matters , this box is an Intel P4/HTT/2.8GHz running Vista Ultimate
, my desktop is an AMD Athlon/64 X 2/2.3GHz running XP Pro SP3}

Never mind , I got it . I told it to look in the wrong place for the files
... Vista is kinda funny , more sensitive in some ways , but a lot more
"user-friendly" in others . If you haven't told it the music files are in a
certain location , it ain't gonna play 'em ... weird .
Windows for idiots ... or the "functionally-computer-illiterate" user .
