My turn to get a round.
It's been about two weeks since the accident and a week since I was
released from hospital. A couple days ago they started to take my
staples out, decided against it and took every other one (25 instead
of 50) instead. Some soreness there and they've taped across the
wound which itches.
A few days ago I noticed my teeth were moving around, the dentist
concurred and glued in a temporary retainer. He says the tooth
ligaments got stretched when I hit my head. I didn't know teeth had
ligaments.
Typing is back to normal and I think my speech has returned to normal,
although the doctor wants to do one more series of tests.
The estimate to fix Noisy Glide is complete. We had to do some
negotiation to get the insurance company to go for it. Apparently
even relatively minor cosmetic damage pushes an 8 year old bike close
to totaled. Fortunately having the bike in pristine cosmetic
condition isn't really an issue. I bought it to ride, not to look at.
While it's in the shop I'm having the 5K service and having them check
the steering head bearing just for completeness.
I'm sleeping a little better at night, mostly in an armchair. It'll
be nice to sleep comfortably in a bed again, when the incision
finishes healing.
Still a lot of paperwork to finish, but I am seeing the light at the
end of the tunnel, and I'm pretty sure it's not a headlight.

Nothing like that yet. I still got nothing from a few minutes before
the wreck until confused memories in ICU. Wife says I went in and out
of consciousness in ER, but I'm not sure if I'm remembering that or
making up something in my head.

Yeah, but can you define "ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM"?

bet a dollar you lose a few of them over the next years! BTDT, and I was told
they would be fine, (except for the ones that got shattered in the accident of
course)
