Drink up on my tab since I'm sorta celebrating. I just finished a
chunk of work: Redesigning and improving my website at:
http://www.xidos.ca
This was something I had been meaning to do for quite awhile. I wanted
to make the website better readable, easier to navigate and more
presentable. Prior to this, I had spent my time just on the content,
not worrying much about other aspects.
The work took awhile because, by the time I had gone through all the
existing material of the old site, it added up to 55 pages worth.
There is a lot of stuff in the Technical Section (28 pages), so I hope
a few people find some of it useful (if not now, maybe some day).
Just tonight, I added a Blog as well (access it via the menu). Feel
free to post comments.
You don't have to register to contribute to the blog or view any of
the other material on the website but, because of no registration,
blog posts will have to get vetted (by me) before they will appear
(the website handles that for you, automatically). It's a general
blog and nothing usenet group-specific.
There's more functionality that I'll be adding in the future, but it's
now at a good stage of completion. Hope you find it enjoyable/useful.
And, if not, you got a drink out it anyway, right? ;)

Look is very pleasing (font, layout, pictures).
The only thing I don't like (and you can't do a thing about it), is the
advertising you have to put up with depending on the software you use.
Small price to pay for ease of use, or cost of same.
I'm curious about the electrical diagram. I am almost wont to even
mention it, but I wonder how long you'll be able to keep it on the site
without H-D knockin' on yer door.

Thanks Len.

Should be that the only advertising on the site is that one-line, tiny-
font statement, "DotNetNuke® is copyright 2002-2009 by DotNetNuke
Corporation". That's the open source software tool I used to develop
the website quicker.
Oh, you might mean the blurb at the bottom of some pages about the
high-speed server where I put some of the pictures for performance.
That's being provided for free from a guy in rec.moto. He has limited
space to donate, so I only put pictures from the most recent ride
stories there.
Aside from that, there's no advertising (and shouldn't be in the
future either). I do my own coding, have the Web server right in my
living room and manage it myself. It's a real, cost-free setup.

Yeah, I wonder about that a little too sometimes. But those pages
have been up for years.
If it was a money-making site, it think it would be worse. I regard
it as a way of simply disseminating some useful information. In fact,
it might even encourage some people to buy the Service Manual when
they see it so, maybe, it's a situation of 'no harm, no foul' (well,
hopefully).
