On my way back to NJ from the Cabin, I went through Charlotte... I-85 to
I-485 to I-77. Haven't been that way in a long time, thought it was a time
for a change.
I noticed the motorcycle cops are riding BMWs *and* are dawning Aerostitch
(BMW?) gear/clothing, including full face helmets (don't know if they're
flip-up or not). Beware! Just when you think you're catching up to a
fellow rider (at say about 90...)... IT'S NOT!
No tickets were issued...

Although I won't be riding my FLHTCI at 90, this is definitely news I can
use. Thanks.

Well, the speed limit is 70,
cops won't even look at you doing 80...
so 90 is pretty easy to work your way up to...
and more.

Actually, I was thinking more about power limitations (think coefficient of
drag with that big batwing fairing). And then there is that issue of the
wobble (it's a '99).

If you still have wobbles , it's nobody's fault but your own . There are
way too many aftermarket solutions to that problem , including my very own
solution . And the parts are a lot cheaper than rebuilding a wrecked bike
... not to mention the medical bills after a high speed crash .
FWIW , my solution was to machine the parts needed in my backyard shop ,
but I also realize that not everyone has the machinery to do that . An added
benefit is that I can hang with most of the idiots that think riding a sport
bike makes them a racer . They just can't believe an old man on a
GeezerGlide can stay with them in the twisties . Straightaways are a
different matter .
Check out Sta-Bo ... several folks here can vouch for their products .
