  No , not M&M's !
Mountains , Music , & Motorcycles in Mountain View was this weekend , and
I decided to ride up for the festivities . I went up early on Friday to take
care of some business -and then I drank some beers , rode some twisties ,
went to the camper early and grilled some animal flesh . Then I went over to
Old Crow's and drank another beer . Found out just how sweet my
headlight/passing lamp set-up is on the ride back to the camper . On high
beams with the passing lamps on , the road ahead  is well-lighted for at
least a half mile .
Got up Saturday , drank some coffee , rode some twisties , met up with Old
Crow and checked out the "festivities", rode some more twisties , drank some
more beer , went to the camper early and grilled some more animal flesh .
Got up this morning , drank some coffee , closed up the camper ,  rode
some twisties ...  until I got to the 4 lane that brought me back to the
flatlands .

I did the mods right after I got the bike . I'm runnin' a pair of H7616
halogen sealed beams , the bike already had an E-code headlight . Those
lamps are also sold as landing lights for small airplanes , they throw a
nearly-square , very tight pattern . The 7616's are 35 watts , the 7614's
are 50w ... and a good bit brighter , I'm told . Aiming is critical ...
This is just the first time I've actually ridden out in the country at
night , and alone . I usually stay in after dark , the deer up there are
thick . I also found out on the way home that Willie Nelson will make them
run away ... the louder the better !

 H76116 - can't keep 'em on a Springer, I've gone thu 4 sets I returned 3 times
to NAPA until I gave up, I'm guessing the Springer is too much for the filament,
I'm looking at the MOCO alternative down the road.
Just my personal experience.

I'm still on my first pair , going on 4 years now . Qualifier - I didn't run
them as much while I was dealing with low voltage problems up in the fairing
. Are yours mounted on the moving ("unsprung") portion of that springer ?
That'd fershure shorten the life of the bulbs .
