The missus and I are sitting in a motel in Cape Girardeau. After leaving
Roger's we heaeded south the the Shiloh Battle Field and snooped around,
then headed father south to Corith, MS for more civil war histoy and related
snooping.
When we crawled out of the sack this AM we snooped around Corinth some more,
(lots of big old houses to look at!), then started the way back north. We
stopped at a museum in Savanah, TN, then heaeded to Cape Girardeau. I think
we both were missing our internet fix, so we stopped and both a netbook at
Best Buy. We were thinking about buying one before we left, but never got to
it. The next few days we plan on roaming up the Mississippi to Minnesota,
then wander home.
I am using a GPS on the bike and one unexpected pleasure is when selecting a
destination I have been entering the "shortest route" intead of the "fastest
route". The shortest route seems to keep us on side roads and we wandered
back on some highways I never would have taken if looking at a map! One road
the GPS sent us on was no more than a few miles of paved cattle path! Barely
wide enough for one car. If two cars meet on that road, one of them would be
taking the ditch!
We had a great time at Roger's and enjoyed seeing all you netscum once
again. Annie feels bad about not joining in on the belly button shots! Maybe
next year!

Not half as bad as we do that she didn't!

I'll save this post and wave it in your face next year, just to remind
ya.
Seriously, it was great having you two over to my house for the
pre-Martin bbq lunch, riding with you guys on the Saturday ride, and
partying all weekend long. Let's do it again next year - maybe sooner,
if you get to MISFIT or EKIII.

Go Eddie!
You still intending to ride to Eddie's this summer? I talked to Frito
and he's going, but not exactly sure of his details. His family is going
with him, so he might ride a different route while they follow. I dunno.
We'll see.
It was good seeing/riding with you and the Greg O outfit. Sorry I didn't
get to see you guys Sunday morning. I woke up early and didn't wanna
just sit in the motel room...so I left. Early bird/worm kinda thing I
guess. I rode some of the same roads as you. I took 60 across to Winona.
Rode right around Poplar Bluff. Nice road, but it's kinda like the
interstate. The 2 lane highways north of there are great, though.

Yup. Let me know what arrangements you're making, hotel, etc., so we
can motor on over together. So it's MISFIT, then a weekend home, then
EKIII.

I agree. Until Poplar Bluff, 60 was kinda like I-57. 49 and 21 made up
for it, tho, sorta.
