Battery! Old one lasted four years & still started the bike,
but it was startin' to struggle. Took it off the 'tender to push the
bike around the shop the other day & when I plugged it back in the
tender went red for nearly an hour. Figured it was easier to replace
it here than on the side of the road.
Batteries Plus seems to be the place to go here in Daytona.
They've had both the batteries I've needed lately, & as soon as the
new one was in the bike fired up like it was brand new.
For those that thought I could really afford a new bike, look
at it this way. I saved enough to buy a round here. Shirley, set 'em
up!

Thanks for the virgin mary, my OEM batteries seem to like the 4 yr
mark also. Never tried Batteries Plus, may have to see if I can find
one around here.

This one performed so well that I sort of forgot about it
until the last month or so. A couple of slow starts & the long red
light on the tender got me thinkin'. The Batteries Plus unit came
with a two year warranty, so we'll see......

I replaced my 5 yr old OEM battery about a month ago. Bike has ben sitting
for long stretches lately, and it seemed that every time I wanted to ride
I'd have to put it on the charger first.
I went to run some errands a week after I put the new battery in and it was
a no-go. Turns out the stator was shorted. That 5 yr old battery probably
would have lasted another yr or so <g>.
