First, a belated Happy New Year to all of ya. I hope you enjoy health
and happiness this year. Have a drink on my tab and you're welcome to
take a view of some work I'm doing this winter.
The first page has to do with fixing the engine-idling, back-firing
problem I asked about earlier, last year. I have replaced the fuel
line inside the tank because the fuel pressure was down to 20 psi
(should be 50-55) and funny noise (must be from spraying fuel) could
be heard inside the tank when it was low.
I hope what I've done solves it but, after putting things back
together, I pressure tested the old, supposed-to-be-leaky hose in a
sink full of water... and couldn't make any bubbles! That leaves me a
bit uncertain, but maybe I'm not able to apply enough pressure,
blowing into one end, to make the leak evident. Once I put things back
together, the bike sure seemed to run good, though, so here's to
hoping.
The page describing that is below:
http://www.xidos.ca/Technical/RepairitYourself/FixingFuelDeliveryProblemStreetBob/tabid/190/Default.aspx
The second page deals with diagnosing the cause of a weak clutch.
That page is at:
http://www.xidos.ca/Technical/RepairitYourself/ClutchRepairStreetBob/tabid/191/Default.aspx
Any comments, criticisms or useful suggestions regarding the above
work will, of course, be much appreciated. Cheers.

Both times my '05 Ultra got a hole in the fuel line it was clearly
visible no pressure testing needed. The first time I replaced it they
had a newly revised line that was several inches shorter. It got a hole
in it twice as quick. I bought some old fashioned rubber F.I. hose and
it lasted until I got rid of it. Good luck with your repair.

Thanks. Interesting.

I was going to add something else there. Before doing the repair, I
was told the replacement line would probably be shorter but, in the
case of mine, it was the same length. The section of tubing where it
bends no longer has the ribbing to facilitate bending though - perhaps
that's to strengthen that section.
Expensive, that fuel line, because they sell it and the check valve
thingy attached to it as one part.
