Shirley, 'tis the Christmas season and being charitable but cautious,
provide everyone with a double of their favorite on me.
I will be replacing tires on the Harley sometime in the spring (if not
sooner). It has the "stock" Dunlops. Has anyone replaced with Metzeler
880's? I did that on the metric (Bridgestone to Metzler) and very much
liked the Metzeler. I have however, been told that simply because a tire or
brand of tires "work" on one bike, that it doesn't necessarly hold true for
another bike. I am looking for better traction and longevity (same as
everyone I assume). I did 'some' searching on rmh.com but didn't come
across the answer. Thanks
Shirley, when they finish the first set'em up again on me.
I also want to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas and a most
prosperious, safe and Happy New Year.

A tire thread god I love a good tire thread. Bloody Mary for me.
You didn't say what model bike you have, my experience with Metsler
880 on Harleys is limited to baggers. They are absolutly the best
feeling tire you can have on the bike. All that stickiness comes with
a price and they don't wear for shit. Actually they don't wear
anywhere near as well as shit. They can cause you to dig through the
tire pile of a HD dealership in kansas on sunday 3000 miles after you
bought them.

I kinda thought the rear looked kinda flashy with that white racing stripe
down the middle ;-)

I put a Dunlop Elite III on the back of mine . Nearly 6k miles and it shows
very little wear . I got one out in the shed for the front , as soon as the
(nearly new when I got the bike in March) D402 wears out . Hell , I might go
ahead and change it out while the cold weather is here . Gotta pull that
wheel for a bearing check and rotor replacement anyway .

My opinion is that there really isn't anything wrong with the 402s.
