Been a long time, so this crisp C-note (do people even say that any
more?) left over from the purchase of my "new" bike is on the bar.
Drink fast; a hundred devalued dollars don't last as long as they used
to.

It's a 2000 FXDX Dyna Super Glide Sport, one museum curator-style
owner, mostly stock, with 5,6xx miles on the odometer, and all the
documentation since when it was born.  This is a bike I've been
thinking about getting for about five years now, and I'm really
looking forward to riding it.

Right now, Groves Harley-Davidson in Winchester Virginia has the bike
to put a new rear tire on it (to replace the original tire which was
hard as a rock and dry-rotted, too) and clean the carb jets that are
clogged from the bike sitting too long without stabilizer in the fuel
system.

I think this is going to be a very nice general purpose bike to
supplement my 44k+ mile Street Glide[1], and lighter and more
maneuverable around town, too.  It might even prove to be less apt at
getting me in trouble than a certain bright red sportbike whose make
and model shall remain nameless; at least I hope so.

Who knows, maybe after the old bank account has recovered from the
shock of a second Harley, there will be a big motor in this bike's
future, too....  Bob Mann and I have talked about it often enough, and
I still find the idea to be a good one.

Finish off that $100 if there's any left over after reading the
above....

[1] Proving that the SE103 kit is as long-wearing as it is fun, which
really makes me happy.

He said Dyna not FXR. I rode it around the block yesterday!

The truly sad part about the history of this bike (up to now) is that
- by my rough calculations - the previous owner spent $2.01 per mile
the bike was ridden, NOT including insurance, registration, taxes, or
gas.

Of course, as is often the case in situations like this, his loss will
be my gain, which is not sad at all....

That be a fine bike that will bring miles of smiles.
