Have whatever you like on me...
For years, I've bought Mobil1 15w/50 in a 5-quart jug at
Walmart and used it in both my bikes. But this year, Walmart
isn't carrying it anymore, and I believe Mobil packaged
their synthetic oils in 5-quart jugs exclusively for
Walmart, and not for anyone else. You can't even buy Mobil1
15w/50 in quarts at Walmart now.
I see various "motorcycle specific" oils sold "by the
gallon" by some online places, but it ain't cheap, and in
most cases, isn't even "reasonable"... :)
I'm not looking to start a "which oil is best"? thread. All
I need is 15w/50 or 20w/50 full synthetic oil packaged in bulk.
So the question -- are there any "regular" (i.e.,
non-motorcycle) oil manufacturers out there that are selling
their product in gallon or 5-quart containers? If you've
seen it on the shelf, who's selling it?
(Aside: I've seen Castrol GTX 20w/50 at Walmart, but it's
the dino version, not Castrol "Syntec").
And have one more on me!

This was posted a few months ago, but maybe it will help with the
Wal-Mart question.

I saw that, too.
But despite what the "official response" was, Walmart never
brought it back (at least in my area).
I'd settle for Castrol GTX, Pensoil full synthetic, whatever
-- in a "big jug". I do the oil changes every 2,500 (maybe
I'll change that to 3,000), and don't have to have the
"absolute extreme best" -- just 20w/50 oil "in bulk".
