Greetings, all:
Please order something of your choice on me.
My question for today is: what might be causing a very small oil drip
forming on the bottom of my air cleaner housing? Bike is a 2006 Ultra
Classic, totally stock.
This usually occurs after a ride of an hour or more, but not always.
I'm trying to sell the bike, never noticed the drip before, but lo and
behold, the very first person who came to look at it pointed it out to
me! It should be noted that the bike is always parked on its center
stand and on a flat surface while in my garage. Don't know if that
matters, but the experts here may need to know that.
Cheers and thanks in advance.

One thing to check is the oil level.  That can cause oil blowback
through the breather bolts if you are overfilled.

Had something similar on my 2006 Sporty. It doesn't take much of an
overfill to cause the blowback.

On the Sporty which is carbureted, I removed the breather element
housing which is held in place by the breather bolts (flanged bolts with
holes in the middle to allow ventilation of the valve area).  I went to
the auto parts store and purchased a sheet of cork and made two gaskets
to go between the back breather assembly and the cylinder heads.

So far so good.  YMMV.

Got a 2005 with a carb on it. Started dripping oil out of the air
cleaner as dp described. Not know exactly what could cause it, I started
throwing new parts at it. I replaced the various gaskets between the
carb and the housing, and also replaced the 2 little crankcase vent
hoses. The dripping stopped. Don't know which actually stopped it.

Hmm.  I thought oil blowback was just something you had to live with
on a Sporty.  Mine blew back a little oil the entire 13 years I owned
it.  I just wiped it off once in awhile.
