A guy on another list has some Tillotson carbs he sez were used on
Sportsters and maybe Shovelheads . He sent me some pics , and these things
don't have a float bowl ... he sez they were called "pumper carbs" , gravity
fed . I've never seen one like these before , and wondered ... did Harley
ever use this type carb on a motorcycle ?

Shit yeah they did! Ran pretty well with 'em, too. So much so that
Andrews knocked off the design (gosh, where did we hear of them doing
that before), made the throat bigger and sold them as Andrews Super 45s
or some such shit.
I liked Tillotsons, personally. Big improvement IMO over the leaky
Linkerts they replaced.
