The poor old Indian Motorcycle Company is going into another iteration.
If I'm not mistaken this is about the 7th version of the Company since
1953. I learned on my Dad's 1951 Chief; shift on the tank, foot clutch,
drum brakes.

The last time I looked a Indian Chief was going at $35,000!
Maybe Polaris can mass produce and drive that number down.
I hope so.

which has announced it is moving it's operations to Mexico :( last I heard
Polaris owns Victory and part if not all of KTM, FUJI Subaru Robin have a
venture in Polaris as well, I know some of the engines are now built here in
the U.S. by Polaris (have been for some years now) some of the engines are
still built by foreign owned companies but from my understanding have moved
either all or part of the manufacturing of those engine here to the U.S.
which again, will be moving to Mexico according to Polaris, I did not see if
they are taking all manufacturing there or not)
I think of Polaris as a watercraft still, I guess because that is where I
first saw and heard he name being from fl, heck the northern probably only
think snowmobiles, I do like some of the stuff they have come out with, I
hate to see them move out of country.......... just one less manufacturer here
in the U.S.

Polaris Industries plans to produce Indian motorcycles at its Spirit Lake,
Iowa, factory, where it makes Victory bikes.
Polaris bought Indian Motorcycle last week. The company doesn’t know yet how
many jobs will be added at its northwest Iowa plant, where it introduced
Victory 13 years ago.
Polaris spokesperson Marlys Knutson told the Des Moines Register it's not set
when Indian production will begin in Iowa. The company reportedly will move
machinery and equipment from North Carolina, where 25 employees worked, to
Iowa over the next two to three months.
Polaris CEO Scott Wine told analysts the company "will accelerate growth of
both brands" over time.

Me too. I've always had a fondness for Indian and have always wanted
them to survive. This way Polaris is buying heritage and I hope they
succeed with this venture.
