25,000 miles or so, depending heavily on how much you use them.

seems like I should get more then 5000 miles that out of them right? the
back brakes look worse then the front.
another question is ,it a big job replacing the rear shoes or does the rear
axel have to come out to get the caliber off ?
I wonder what the dealer would charge?

Easily changed without removing the wheel. the procedure is listed
somewhere online.
BTW if ya have the dealer do it when you change a tire or belt they
only nick ya for 3/10ths of an hour(about 24 bucks) labor

Very simple to do......
First step is to buy the Harley repair manual......turn to
the section concerning replacement of brake pads.....read
the entire section, then go out in the garage and do the
job. Shouldn't take long at all.
