I got a very unwanted phone call this morning from Heather, a friend
and long time mate to one of my best friends, Anthony Shone (most
folks here know him better as Cyclone).
Heather told me that she was just recently released from hospital
where she was being treated for a broken leg and some nasty head
injuries. Her and Tony were driving from their house in the town of
Fenelon Falls Ontario to thier lake house about 20 miles away when
they drove into a snow squall. Before Tony got a chance to slow down
in the white out, they slammed into a highway snow plow.
Heather was air lifted to a Toronto hospital and Tony was taken to a
local one where he passed away from a severe head injury and bleeding
on his brain.
There's many people in the group that had the chance to meet Cyclone
IRL and others here that just knew him from what he posted. No matter
which of the aformentioned catagory you fit into, I can bet my life
that he left a smile on your face.
For those that never got to read his posts or shake his hand IRL, I'm
sorry. You missed out on one of this world's truly unique, intelligent
and fall down funny individuals.
So tonight I'm going to go get a case of Tony's favorite, Sleemans
steam ale. I'll think of my loud cyclonic haired friend in the bright
Hawiian shirt and drink to his memory until I fall asleep.
Feel free to join me, virtual Sleemans steam ale is on my tab all
night... <clink>
If you never got to read Cyclone posts, it's worth a look:

Thanks Bear. I'm going to print up all the good wishes and give them
to Heather. She'd like that.
We'll be toasting Cyclone IRL in June in Mtl.if you'd like to drop by.

I have the dates noted on my calendar. Can't promise, but would surely
like to be there.
