I understand completely. A friend & I rented out there in late August about
4 years ago. It was a toasty 120 deg f. outside. The faster you went, the
hotter it was. We stopped at every/any air conditioned building possible.
The ride to Red Rocks and then out to Lake Mead to go waverunning was pure
misery, nothing pleasant about going 80 mph in a microwave oven. We returned
the bikes early and hit the pools. No regrets.

I didn't mind the heat so much, although I'm pretty sure it didn't reach
120, but ML found it miserable as well. On the bright side, if I get to do
the trip again I won't have to worry about her wanting to come along. <g>
Our next ride is a 2.5 day run to Florida...with the kids...and mother in
law...in the mini-van. Give me 120 degrees on a bike anyday.

Sisyphus rides a Triumph

Just got back from picking up the bike and it didn't sound right. It seemed
to bog down a bit while excelerating and was a bit throttier, like it's
getting too much gas, at higher RPMs. Oh, and I ran out of gas on the way
back so I had to hit reserve and the nearest station, which didn't bother
me.
I just got an e-mail from the shop owner and he was asking how the bike was
running, actually he said "I totally forgot to let you know that I have
lifted your carb needles by .5 mm. How did your first ride go?". I let him
know about what I described above and I'll wait to see what his response
was. He's a good guy so I'm sure he'll either offer to undo the change, but
if it's simple enough I might just do it myself.

I'm assuming that the hack is the barcalounger?

Correct.
