Same weight in the primary is fine.  All you're doin' is
lubricatin' a chain.  Bacon drippin's would prolly do just fine, but
the gear box is a bit different.  75/90 is a minimum, & to a point
thicker is better.  I'm usin' Red Line Shockproof.  Thick & pretty,
but it gives some good shifts..........YMMV, after all, this is an oil
thread............

None of our mechanics suggest using anything more than regular 20/50 and
Formula+. Unless you don't change the oil often enough perhaps.
I used Syn in the '04 95" Ultra but I'm sticking with 20/50 now and just
doing lots of changes.

I always wonder why people want to try other lubes.
H-D has a good reputation for longevity (apart from can chain tensioners)
with the standard lubes so what is to be gained by using other stuff?
Save a few bucks? Not so much.
Longer life? Unlikely.
Just do the regular service at the proper intervals and the bike should
last a long, long time without major problems.

Hey Kurt - send me an email.
Still on for a shirt swap?
