So much for the ACE, eh? Or do they still make that? My, it's been a
long time since I've been in a Honda store.

They made the Shadow/ACE up there, I'm wondering about the Gold Wing. Article
mentioned a plant in "Union City", but then said no motorcycles would be built
stateside.....
Looks like their motivation is that they're building/selling so many cars that
they need the plant space and it's cheaper to retool than it is to build a new
plant from the ground up.

A friend on the inside tells me that Honda sees the motorcycle market as
saturated and that American labor costs are too high. All total 1,100
motorcycle dealers went out of business in 2007. I don't know any of that as
fact. FWIW.

My personal belief is that the market for motorcycles is currently
oversaturated, it WAS a big fad for a while and is now shrinking back to the
folks who always rode, or would have ridden anyway.
Don't know what will happen though if the price of gas gets to $5+ a
gallon....we might see thousands of small displacement bikes hit the roads.
Frikkin place will look like Vietnam........

We used to say that about $3+ a gallon. Doesn't seem to have made a
difference.
