ssssort of. As well as I can manage. Not been a great summer,
unfortunately. Didn't go anywhere, didn't do anything, the only time I
got the wind in my hair was riding the lawn boy. All the fuzzy
critters are fine though, Bear Creek had a litter of wolf puppies last
spring. They are a BLAST!

Dana (ok, ok, cubs. They sure act like puppies though.)

They're beautiful, Dana. Shame about that permit thing. When we
lived in Arizona we used to raise wolf hybrids. The laws in AZ are
that if the animal has 1% of any kind of dog, you can raise it as a
pet without permits.
Then we moved to SoCal. The law in CA says that if there's 1% wolf in
the animal you have to have a cage and a permit from the Fish and
Game. The town council in the town we lived in also required a
$1,000,000 insurance policy.
Needless to say, we moved in the middle of the night(so to speak)and
the wolves became shepard/husky mixes. We finally lost our last
female about 4 years ago to old age(16). We miss 'em, but they're
definitly more hassle to raise that the Lab and the Blue Heeler we
have now.
Someday I'll tell you about taking a raw T-bone away from a 125lb
Timber wolf.

That's how it is in Ontario too. And the Ministry is no longer giving
anyone permits to have wolves.

Yep. We thought we could pull that off too, when we were talking about
taking the pups to obedience class. We'd be fine until they'd all
start to howl... :^)

Wow, long, long life.

No kidding. We have some monumental fights now. And we do NOT get in
the middle of them. It's just too dangerous. I got nailed by one
(purely by accident, no actual biting took place) on their last vet
trip. I kind of got stabbed by a fang during the jumping-yipping-melee
that happens when we get them out now. I thought I was going to bleed
to death. It's my first Bear Creek scar. Permanent one, anyway.

Oh, NO THANKS. We don't even try to take toys away from the pups now,
and they're half that size.

I'm coming in on the middle of this here conversation.
I snipped a lot of stuff. (sorry).

>father mode on<
Dana! Do I need to lecture you again?
>father mode off<

Janet and I really missed our annual (well almost annual) trip to the
Taramina Homestead.
Maybe, New Years Eve???

Peace
Milo
