If ya want the old sound then you have to go with an older bike. With all
the polution controles set down by the Fed's you would need to go with a
shovel or pan I would think to get that sound you remember.

I had a set of 2 into 1's with a cored out stock muffler. Went to the
muffler shop we deal with and had him make a piece of straight pipe
with a slash cut to replace it. Sounded pretty good, but that was
before I went to the smaller cam, and it wouldn't run for shit with
that setup.
I've run short of cash on the overhaul, and I suppose I'll just patch
up the drag pipes I've been running and wrap 'em in header tape, but
I've replaced all the important parts.
