At least try it with an arbour/hydraulic press. Sometimes they
take a bit to loosen up. Use common sense and feel if it is really
too tight.

Thanks Phil. I'll try that.
Am I correct in thinking those bearings normally will just about fall
out of the hole, once the snap ring is taken off?

I've apparently missed several posts leading up to this one ...
Tried putting it in the oven for a while , then holding an ice cube on the
bearing ? Actually , with the difference in thermal expansion rates heat
alone might be enough .

Last time I cleaned the brake dust off one of my rear wheels in the
bath tub I got into quite a bit of trouble though... I probably
should clear this one with the boss first.
