able to tell if it's way too lean but I'll bring the PCIII with me to TN and
if I have to install it on the road, I'll do that. Maybe I'll just install
it but wait to plug it in until I need it or put the pipes on. <<

You can always install it and run a '0' map. Mebbe even experiment with the
tuning buttons. I never used 'em.

If you've got a lift or stand that will hold the bike upright, use it.
Otherwise, find a brick or piece of wood that will _almost_ stand the bike
upright, and use that. Just don't tip 'er over!

Because there are more clutch plates now than there used to be, the clutch
seems to stick out further (towards the outer primary cover) than it did on
EVOs. This doesn't give you much room to pour fresh fluid in without spilling
over to the outside. I find that if you take a small file card, you can
"guide" the fluid in much easier.

If I recall, fill it until the fluid is just touching the bottom of the clutch
plates.

I don't care for the new "combination" fluid HD is selling as a replacement
for _both_ the transmission and clutch fluids. The old "Primary Chaincase
Lubricant" was better. But you can't buy it at the Harley dealerships anymore,
so if you still want to use the old-style primary fluid, you've got to go
aftermarket. I bought several bottles of RevTech, which is probably the same
concoction that HD used for years, in a differently-labeled container.

Aside: does anyone know what kind of fluid the old Primary Chaincase Lube
actually _was_? Is the any automotive store equivalent that is essentially the
same stuff?

A round for all!

That's a fact. It's easier to pour it into the chain inspection opening than
the clutch cover. No funnel needed.

Book says 32 oz so 1qt bottle does the job. TL mentioned that the '07's use
a smaller amount that requires measuring out rather than dumping a quart.

Thanks for the post.
