Hi Jim,
I'm glad to hear the FXR is still up and running. What color is it
now? Still basic white?

Holy shit, haven't seen you in a while. Got the RaceTech
cartridge emulators and springs, the spherical bearing kit for the
swingarm, and new isolators already here.
Just waiting for the SnagBushings (basically like Stabo-IIs, to go
inside the isolators, if I understand it correctly). Oh, and time to
do the work!
That should make her handle all peachy. I'll also remove all the
air fork shit, because that stuff usually just ends up leaking air and
removing the extra preload. Besides, properly set up springs should
be just fine!
Next project, eventually, will be to upgrade the hand controls to
'95 and up. Scored two complete new looking switch housings and
switch sets, with Deutsch connectors and all for $40 at my local indie
shop where my favourite parts guy (was a coworker for years) now
works. Will need a dual-disc new style master cylinder (he had two,
but they were for DOT4, and I don't feel like rebuilding a master
cylinder right away if he can find another), clutch perch, levers,
throttle cables, and female deutsch connectors and pins, and I can
upgrade those shitty molex connectors in the headlight to proper
watertight connectors out of it.

Hey Phil.
I checked into those CCE bearing kits but thought
they needed a new swingarm or something like that.
Thats a fuzzy memory though. I can't recall exactly
why I decided against it. Anyway, would like to
hear how your FXR rides after all those upgrades
you have planned.
I checked the pics you have on your site. Really
like the way the bike is looking these days and
glad to hear you're keeping it running right too.
You just don't see many FXR's anymore.

They have two kits. One to convert a newer style swingarm to work
with older tranny cases, and one to put spherical bearings in the old
swingarms, which is what I got.

If I ever get time to do it!

Yeah, whenever anyone asks, it's not for sale. Ever. I'd sell my
car and take transit first.
