They give you sealant now? Put 3 on my own barges in the last 9 years and
about 4 or 5 for others, never had any sealant with the rack.
Remember, measure twice...... and when you're about to put the bit to
fiberglass, stop and measure again.

Yep, I'm the same way. Came out fine last time and IIRC came with the
silicone.

My tourpak rack didn't come with sealant. Neither did the
saddlebag lid rails. I used RTV on all of 'em with no problems to
date.

don't look at me! i have better glue than silicone to huff. ;-)
don't have any silicone in my tour pack mounting holes but i did use some
thin rubber washers just for grins.
