What you want is really not that complicated, and
not all that expensive.
What you want is a motion detection system planted
in the eve above her window, and in the hallway.
Nearly impossible to defeat from inside or out.
You can have the sensor turn on a light, camera,
alarm, or all three. Like you said, you gotta pay
for what you want.
