Greetings, belly up, I'm buyin'.
Haven't been here in a long while, glad to see some familiar faces.
I have an '06 Ultra on which I'd like to remove the tour pak. I
realize I'll lose the use of the communications and CB, as well as the
rear speakers, but I seldom use any of that anyway. (I wudda bought a
"regular" Classic, but I got this used for a GREAT bargain)!
Anyway, is this a particularly technical undertaking? Will I find ugly
mounting or weld tabs under the box? My goal is to do this without
having to replace anything under the box. I just like the smooth back
look, but I want to retain the option of putting it back on if the
Mrs. wants to take a long ride or if/when I sell it.
Thanks in advance,
Drink up!

Google is your friend. Bing too. Plenty of web pages on topic.

Thanks for the Bud Light. Don't know if this will help you, but I have a
'99 Classic and wanted to do the same thing. However, I got a quick change
mount for the tour pack instead of just doing away with it. That way it's
relatively easy to take on and off. The Motor Company also makes a seat
back you can attach in place of the tour pack, so your significant other
won't fall off the back. And... you can keep the radio reception with a
rubber duck antenna, which is very unobtrusive.
Enjoy.

Maybe not the most amazing method but, when I did it to my Road Glide
12 years ago, I did it like this:

Thanks for the drink.

Guess I'm feeling charitable tonight:
Here's a good write up with pics and everything.
