Help!!
I just bought a pair of Bassani slip-on's for my '05 Roadking. The bike
has a power commander 3 (bassani short core download), and SE air box.
The pipes sound great, the bike performs great, but the slight brown
tint is killing me.
After reading all the other threads I'm learning the bike is either
running rich or lean. My question is, how do I correct that problem
with my power commander??? I have the proper download on it, shouldn't
that adjust the rich or lean thing? The bike is sitting in my garage
until I can fix the problem. At the moment, the brown tint is minimal,
if I continue to ride it'll get worse.
Help!

I think the best thing to do is..............
Sell it
That's right just sell it. Hell if you continue to ride it, that darn
exhaust pipe will change color. The paint might get chipped! Or heaven
forbid the sheet metal dented. In fact the entire bike will begin to
lose that showroom lustre. It would be a shame for you to have to go
through that. If you sell it now someone else would have to endure the
torture of riding an ever de-valuing motorcycle and save you the
heartache.
Glad I could help!

Call Dynojet. They have free tech support that will walk you through the
manual mapping process.
Or paint the pipes pink.

Where is the brown tint? On the outside? Where exactly?
I hope you haven't been using chrome polish to clean those Bassani's.
My FLH Bassani's came with instructions saying you'd ruin the (plastic)
finish if you did that.
My pipes are black on the inside.

Hi Joe-
Thanks for the reply. I'm getting flamed by people about my post. I
suppose I'd understand the discoloration if my cheap stock slip on's
changed colors too. Instead, it's the expensive $425 Bassani's that
change. But wait, it's just the right side slip on. The left side looks
great.
Yeah, you can probably tell I'm not realy happy with my Bassani
experience. I spoke to the guys at Bassani and they said, it's totally
normal. I havent noticed a lot of motorcycles with a quarter of the
right pipe brownish/purple.
The discoloration is from the weld to the heat shield. The sales person
at Bassani told me to go true dual and the pipes won't discolor.
Any suggestions??
