I was sort of surprised that it made it for another season. Just
wondering what bikers do think of this show. My own opinion is based
on experience of over 35 years with clubs and as a independent. I
believe it places a negative public image on independent bikers and
1%er clubs. If you ride a Harley and may fit the stereotype of long
hair, beard and tattooed, you are already pegged by society as anti-
social, this show will reinforce that whether you are or not.
All those years ago I can remember riding a custom Harley chopper)
with a 1%er club and as an independent and law enforcement not
treating me much different. If you rode a Harley without getting any
hassles, you probably were clean cut on an Electra Glide bagger (now I
have one).
Some of the bs on Sons of Anarchy is not very believable to me. I have
watched it and find it interesting how wide open the Sons are and the
cops, I never remember that stuff happening. I do remember law
enforcement having alot less reason to hassle and bust someone back
then and now it is RICO for any and everything as a reason. Anything
positive which is done is looked upon in a negative way by the powers
to be. Of course, all the killers and swindlers will likely walk away
bloody and rich, with the focus on bikers, clubbers and independents
due to a TV show.
By the way this seemed like a good topic for a college computer class
assignment I had to do, so maybe I can lay the stereotype to rest. At
some point of my assignment I am suppose to delete it, but I am having
reservations about that.
I really like to read any and all responses.

It isn't back yet. Production on season two hasn't even started.
