Hi all. Shirley, a round for my thirsty friends please.
I have read, researched, oogled and googled seats.
This seat is not for me, but for my SO as a birthday present.
All of my research has lead me to one seat in particular. Let me tell you
why.
Many years ago, by SO was in a motorcycle crash. She broke her back and
pelvis.
She loves her new Sportster, but even short rides cause lower back
discomfort.
Long ones just hurt.
The seat I have selected is this one:
http://www.mustangseats.com/hdcontst.htm
Wide Vintage seat with Driver backrest.
She wants a wider seat that stock (she is not a small woman). This one seems
to have a
nice "pocket" for general support, and has the removable backrest for longer
rides.
So anyway, the final step in doing my homework is to ask if any of you have
experience (good bad or ugly)
with this particular seat on any model of HD....
I will be ordering soon, Mustang has free shipping till 07/31. I'm gonna
install it and
surprise her with it combined with a surprise ride with friends to the coast
the morning of her big day.
Thanks all,
jojo

That's essentially the same seat I have on my Heritage. The backrest is
fantastic. I rode across country with the stock seat and my back was
killing me after a few days, I rode the other direction with the Mustang
seat and didn't have any back problems.
Good luck.
