Shirley, a round for the house...
A leak in your primary:
I took my bike in for it's 1000 mile last night. The guy was checking
everything out, ran his hand
under the primary, and it came back black and oily. Says I have a leak in my
primary.
What would cause this on a new bike? Oops at the factory?
I examined the garage floor when I got home, no oil there, and no oil where
I park at work.
Maybe it's not to bad...
Seat update:
My SO came to pick me up at last night, and the dealership had about 60 used
bikes under a tent getting ready for July 4th sale. I had looked around a
bit, and much to my glee found 3 sporty's with mustang seats and 2 with
Corbin seat.
Now, she can spend ours checking out bikes, so it was really easy to get her
to sit on a couple of them and check them out. Here is how it went...
me: check out this one, only 3000 miles on it, can you believe it?
her: I really like this bike.
me: you should, it's just like yours.
her: Almost, but it has a different seat. See how wide this one is?
me: no, looks like a Harley seat to me
her: no, look. See how it curves up in the back, I kinda fit into it, rather
than sit on it.
me: Oh, yeah, I see. (knowing all the time it's a Mustang seat)
Then she starts checking out all of the bikes with different seats. In the
end, it was the Mustang that she really liked.
Deeper in debt, here I come!!

Probably just a bad gasket. Not so uncommon at all.
