Spicy hot bloody Mary's (Ketel 1 & extra horseradish) on the bar, help
yourself.

My brother's looking at mounting speakers to his RK Custom. Can anyone
recommend handlebar mounted speakers? J&M handlebar mounted speakers any
good? Rumble Road? Kuryakyn?

Also, I'm going to make the move toward warmer winter riding and buy Ris & I
heated gear. IIRC, Gerbing is the way to go and I'm think of the jacket
liner. Do I buy this directly from Gerbing or is there best price options? I
think we'd like heated glove liners too.

Thanks for any suggestions.

That works for Pauline & me.

Pro: Gerbing's making a less bulky glove now.  Mine are about 10 years
old and are of the old variety, but still work excellently.  I want to
buy a new pair and leave these at the Cabin.  I'm holding off for the
NYC show or the one in NJ, they usually give a discount at the shows.

Con...  liners will fit in *your* gloves, but they'll be pretty bulky.

If you have a battery tender hookup, you'll need to replace it with
Gerbing's (but the Battery Tender can use Gerbing's hookup).  Or you can
just put a 15amp(?) fuse in the Batter Tender hookup.  Wire size is the
same, at least it was with the hookup I bought in Oct '08.

If you get one of the interface plugs & swap the fuse to a 15amp, you can
continue using the Battery/Tender cable.

Though in a two up situation I would suggest a sepparate feed for Risa.

I know nothing about them but there's a set of Two Wheel Tunes
speakers
for Road Kings on eBay right now.  http://tinyurl.com/6gksyw

I've got both the heated liner and the heated gloves and I'm using a
Warm & Safe thermostat with mine. Reputed to be better than the
one Gerbing sells. It all works fine for me and because my meds
cause me to chill easily I've usually got them on if it's below 50`.
YMMV

The thinner G3 gloves are a lot less bulky than the originals. Recommended
over the older gloves as well as the glove liners.

You'll probably find retail pricing everywhere. I think I even paid retail
for my originals at an IMS. After some sizing screwups ordering direct I'd
advise trying before you buy. You oughta be able to find a large Gerbing
selection at a larger BMW dealer.

Gerbings sells 2nds here:

Some reports of being unable to detect any defects, however, everythings
sold as-is.

Regardless of where you buy, I'd avoid Gerbings controllers, they're
outsourced Chinese junk. The guy that makes the original Heatroller sells
direct and offers excellent, personalized customer service.

Mike now has developed his own line of heated gear. I haven't seen any of it
but considering my past contacts with him I'd guess it's probably real good
stuff. He designs, tests and refines his own products. IMO, Gerbings has
gone downhill over the years.

There's numerous adapters available for the coax/SAE connector issue. IMO,
the newer coax connectors are superior. I use the coax pigtail on the
battery and have an SAE adapter hooked to the Battery Tender.
