Hi All,

Been having trouble starting my bike in the morning and not sure what
direction to go in.  This may be a bit long, so if anyone interested in
this, you might wanna order something  up from Shirley at the bar... .I am
sure she'll be more than accomodating.....
Let me preface this by saying that my 01 heritage has been modified
some.....It sits as a 117 inch S&S modified motor with crane lifters and
.625 cams.  It has a dyna ignition system on it (which I will address a
little more in detail later).  It also has a 2 into one RB racing exhaust
system.  Also have a set of compression releases in it to help starting.
The carb is an S&S "G", which has been modified to a 47mm bore and also has
a booster kit added and a venturi mod done and a thunderjet.  The main jet
is a .078, intermediate is .033, a/b .059, and the thunderjet has a 1.20
jet.
The bike will start right up fine once it is warmed up, but when you try
to start it first thing in the morning (or afternoon) its a bear.  I had the
dyna ignition set at 28B, which should be a good starting point, but here's
the thing.....I've moved it to 34B and 36B and it will start quicker, but
still not like it should.  I have to continue to pump the throttle to get it
to start.
Ok, so I have made what I think is alot of progress as it is almost
riding season and I am starting to get the itch.......but I feel it can
still be fine tuned, so my thought is to change to a different style
ignition system, maybe to a dual fire one, but not sure if this would
accomplish anything.
So, without being able to find anything in a manual or anything like
that, does anyone have any eye deers what I could do to get this beast up
and running the way it was meant to be running?  Any help would be greatly
appreciated

Thanks...

Betya your right<g> don't matter how much $$ ya throw at a motor, a simple
squirt of WD-40 in around that area with the motor running should tell ya
real quick, and a cheep fix ta boot.

Ah... I thought of a slight intake leak, but after screwing around with
the ignition timing a bit, and gettin it to start when it was nearly
impossible, I thought I stumbled on the right thing....I did have to put the
carb back on once it was modified.....will make sure the bolts are still
tight....

Will keep ya posted once I find something....thanks again guys...
