I was just kinda wondering, as I know some of you do indeed smoke,
quit, or possibly found an alternative.

I like smoking, but finding a cheap supply is starting to be a pain in
the ass, even via the indian tribe outlets in upper state NY where a
carton was only $27 bucks a pop, delivered!

So anyway, have ANY of you fine people ever tried those electronic
cigarettes?
The basic idea and principle seems rather fascinating, but there are so
many choices to choose from.

With a little research, I have found that it IS really rather simple
(and cheaper!) to make yer own "Juice" for the cartridges, and refill
yer own!
After all, it's just a VG - Vegetable Glycerin, and nicotine mix with
flavors of yer own choice.

In fact, one doesn't even HAVE to add the Nicotine, to keep this
disgusting, albiet safer, habit going. :)
For instance, just the VG, and whatever "flavour", with distilled water
or Everclear, to thin out the glycerin!
(Saw it on the web (Youtube) on how to make yer own "Menthols" with said
crystals disolved in Everclear to produce that "burn/ throat feel!)

So in closing,  has anyone here ever used one of these devises?

I've been using them  since the end of November, and after smoking
for 35+ years, I'm now on my 4th week of being 100% tobacco free!
I wouldn't have been able to do it without the e-cig, and I will probably
still be using it for at least a few more months as I decrease the
nicotine amount that I'm at now. I use the eGo T model after having
tried out half a dozen different types, and they seem to be what
works best, especially if you still want the feel of inhaling smoke.
There is a new Korean product, the G4 which is nice as it holds
pretty much a days worth of fluid, but it's picky about the type of
fluids it will work with, high viscosity seems to clog it up
quickly.
I highly recommend to anyone that wants to quit to at least try
an e-cig, I'd done the patches, pills, and inhaler, and whatever
other voodoo has been concocted and the e-cig is the only
one that worked!

good luck! good Vaping!

Thanks for that info, Doug.  That's a route I've been considering.

What do you mean by steadily decreasing nicotine?  What is the liquid
that the eGo T model uses and how long does a bottle last?

If you make your own liquid, there are various "juices" that one can
purchase, from lot's of nicotine, to zero.
Lots of info on YouTube and the like.

The "smoke" which is just water vapor, depends on the base liquid,
either PG (Propylene Glycol) or VG (Vegetable Glycerin), with the latter
being very cheap to get at Walmart, but a bit thicker, so you have to
thin it out with water, Grain alcohol, or the various flavors
