I'll buy everybody something cool and a round from the top shelf for
anybody that can help me load the core program into a Symbol PDT
6800. We're in a bind at work and I'm grasping at straws. Seems we
bought into a program ~10 years ago and who knows where the discs are.

I don't know that particular device but symbol was bought by motorola, here is a
link to
the device manual:
http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId264502apdf&sliceId=&dialogID ˜054490&stateId=1%200%2098052214

The little reading I did lead (depending on your actual issue) to the
programmer's guide:

Good luck!

Thanks for the links, I had found the user guide, but the programmers
guide
had eluded me. We use the scanners to do scheduled checks on fire
protection
and safety equipment. I'm afraid we might have to go the the software
mfg
for instructions, the Symbol books refer to dos and pushing a file to
the PDT,
just don't know which file or if we even have it. I am a primary
user, but have
zero info about the set up, I wasn't included in that discussion.
thanks

Symbol (Moto) is one of the customers I support, and I know some
people in their IT department. I'll ping them on Monday and let you
know if I can find a resource.

Well I tried, but the only thing I could come up with is the following
number for support: 800.653.5350 or 631.738.6213. My main contact is
out on medical leave until the EOM.
