Had to run a little errand to Palm Coast yesterday afternoon. You could
tell Bike Week was coming! On the way up I passed several trailers full
of...................................trailers! Guess they figure the few that
actually ride *to* Bike Week will be ready to tow home............8^) Also
passed the usual herd of trucks & RV's haulin' trailers full of bikes.
On the way back I took US-1, & all the usual places from White Eagle to
Iron Horse are busy throwin' up tents & signs. Rossmeyer's was full of semi
trucks & cars. I guess it's time for the bikes to be relegated to the back lot
again. I never understood why a motorcycle mecca would make the very customers
they cater to park out back & hike to the store & events rather than the other
way 'round.
It's still early, but some of the motels were flashin' signs hawkin'
"rooms available", & most of the vacant lots along US-1 have signs sayin'
"vendors wanted". Guess we'll see if the economy is gonna have an effect.

True enough, I still recall my first Bikeweek fondly. I've purchased black
boots since then. <g>
