 I've been looking at some roads on the web and saw this one.
anyone here riden US 129 Tenn/N.C. called The Slide?

The Slide is a series of S turns on the Dragon at Deal's Gap. Probably
so-named for the hordes of squids that've gone sliding down the road on
their Kevlar-covered carcasses.

Just a section on "Tail of The Dragon".  Do a Google search and check
out the first 4 or 5 links.  Its a memory you really need for when you
have to have training wheels to keep riding.

yup, it is the section of road south of deals gap store it runs up the
hill past the dam where Harrison ford jumped in the movie the fugitive
to what is the 129/28 intersection

There are better roads to ride though, unless you just have to be
ricky racer <g>

 which runs into slide rock,  which many never ride anyhow, they run
back and forth from crossroads of time store to the north end of he
Dragon and back instead of running all the way down to the dam
