Yeppers.  Sounds a lot like the steering head bearings were loose in
that first guy's bike.  He said the incident occurred when he was
travelling at 25mph - pretty much the speed at which that problem will
exhibit itself.

Yup, I'd more suspicious of poor maintenance or a low tire than a design
flaw at low speeds.

Mr. Costas has 40 years on the seat & a 25-30 mph wobble, but he doesn't
have a clue what was going on?  Something aint right here.  I think he may
be one of the guys that gets in front of a camera and makes tornado noises.

You can put perfume on a pig, but it's still a pig.  I understand tradition,
I understand that the FL's can be made better, I like my bagger, and
understand it's limits.  IMO, any govermental org that uses a HD for service
where a game of get-a-way chase may be played or high speed action will be
required is using the wrong bike.  Several much better choices available
(all with their associated quirks).  RT's, FJR's, C-14's, ST's, even 'busas
would be a better chioce for spirited riding by LEO's.  But.............I
figure it's all about the dollar.  I had a dealer tell me that they leased
to the local PD for $1 per year, with the provision that all service had to
be done by the dealer.  The dealer made $$ servicing the bikes and then sold
them with 10K miles at near new prices a year later.  The local PD didn't
have to buy anything.  Win-win, unless you need to go fast in a spirited
fashion.
