It's a new billing cycle and my card's empty, so drinks all around.
As for me, well, it's Sunday morning and last night was a late
one so I think I'll stick with the black coffee.
I'm buying a new bike for the wife in a week or two, and it looks like
it's gonna be an '09 XL1200N. She likes the way it fits her small
frame and the trade-up offer the motor company's running on the '09
models is pretty good, too - it never hurts to be looking a little
bit ahead.
Anyway, she's unhappy with the stock exhaust and up for consideration
is the V&H Double Barrels.

I like V&H quality and sound but I've never seen the Double Barrels up
close and personal. They sure look a lot like the Big Shots I've got
on a Dyna. I'm thinking they'll probably be a little quieter on the
Sporty, which ain't necessarily a bad thing.
Anyone got any experience with these particular pipes?
Thanks, and drink up on my tab while we wait for this blasted rain to
ease.

Sporties are no quiter than BTs.
They do look like a slightly shorter version of the Big Shot which is a
very good pipe IMHO and based on customer feedback.
I have the Shortshots on a 2005 883 Sporty with cams and hi-comp, 1200
pistons.
It's loud even with the quiet baffles.

I'd get her the "WIDOW XR 2-1-2 SYSTEM Limited Edition Stainless
Version" for $1029.00.
You do want to be trendy "Euro Trash" don'cha?
Why for fuck's sake do you people that buy new motorcycles have to go
and change the exaust to louder pipes?
oh yea loud pipes save lives...
In most states you won't be able to pass inspection and your just
adding fuel to the anti biker EPA nuts.

IMO I don't think the majority of the folks in this newsgroup that
change pipes do so for increased noise. Pipes are changed for
performance and tuning capabilities. Sound may be a determining factor
in which pipe to choose after the decision is made to change pipes, but
not as the primary reason. Again, JMHO.
