Designed and rated for a bit more weight than the stock tires would handle, also

I was having wobble/stability issues with my 2005 Ultra at speed under certain
conditions. I changed to E3 tires at the same time I installed a stabilizer
link. Don't know what percentage of each one solved the problem, but I like to
think they both helped.

I'm also hoping to get more than 9K miles out of a rear, like I used to get on
the OEM/stick Dunlop.

Len's post about the newer OEM/stock Dunlop tires concerns the change in
rubber/formulation, etc. which although the same tire the baggers always came
with...is actually a better tire (if his experience is typical, and probably is).

I've got over 9K on my E3's, still have LOTS of tread left on the rear.
Noticed an improved ride right away, much more stable on some sweepers
with rain grooves that I have to pass over on the way to work. This is
my tire of choice, I'm sticking with them on my '07 Ultra.

I had E3's on my Classic and they handled great. I was very happy with
them. Since I just traded for a new Ultra and it has that new blended
compound Dunlop (407?), I'll have see how these do.

I'll take a sticky tire over a harder tire any day.  Too many cruisers slide
out or fear dominates when the turns get tight and traction drops to nada.

Bad crash this past Sunday on 178 near Lake Isabella where guy on Dunlop's
slid off the road in a tight turn and crashed along with his wife.  He was
okay, wife not so much, and bike not at all.  Had to drag it back over the
grass onto the roadway.  Lots of people stopped to assist though.

Only drag is I change them stickies myself and more often, about every 3-4K
miles.  Better than a crash though.  I don't like Dunlop's for the fact that
as they age and still have lots of miles available, they get harder and soon
develop little dry-rot cracks.  A two-year old tire gets pretty damn hard.

imo. ymmv.

Never noticed that. Guess I'll hang on to my takeoffs for a year and a half
or so to check it out.
