Interesting video about how to tell how old a tire is and what the
industry is doing about it (which is nothing).

Went to a Les Schwab's not too long ago to get a spare mounted for th'
big ugly van.  They took one look at m' spare and sezzed no way, it's
too old, we can't mount that by law.  So I went down to th' local indy
tire buster shop and gave him m' dinero instead.  He didn't say squat.
If he wouldn't have been in town, I woulda been fooked.  So I guess th
*industry* is doin' somethin' about it.

Snarl... well, some of it

As long as I can tell how old it is I'm happy. I don't need
the industry to do anything more than that. I can make
my own choice with the info.

Its good to know this, I went out and looked at the tires on
my 2006 Montego and they were made in July of 2005. The ones I just
had put on my work car must have the information on the inside like
it was commented on the video. What year they were made won't much
matter now. But from now on I'll look at the tire before its put on
and see how old they are, thanks for the info.
