I suppose it comes down to this question. All other things being equal,
if you had to choose between brandy-new tires that were made last month,
or the exact same tires that had been sitting on a shelf for X number of
years, which would ya choose? As much as tires cost nowadays, I'm going
to look at the date code when I buy them and make sure I'm getting new,
fresh tires right out of the oven. (Sounds like buying bread, doesn't it.)

Replace when moldy.

Yeah, but my dogs won't eat moldy tires.

I thought I'd check the tires on it and my trailer. My spare tire was 4202.
I could not see the ones on my trailer I know they are older than that. I
will have to jack it up and look on the inside. With my spare being made
October of 02 I won't worry, but I won't use it as a regular tire should I
need to stick it on for a flat. I do need to buy new for the trailer though.
I think there only 25 bucks at Walmart on the rim, something like that. I
know there older than 02 though.
My bike front tire is the same that comes on it stock, date was 4807 that
was good, I just had it put on this spring while on a mission. I realized I
was getting a bit low on tread so I road right to the dealer.
My back tire is the Elete 3, that surprised me what the date was. They must
not be a good seller. It was dated 2405. I'll have it worn out by the 6 year
thinking about dry rotting age. Just my thoughts too, I like my bread fresh,
all though I do like day old donuts from Casey's!
