Name yer poison. Shirley? Set up the fine Netscum here assembled
with the beverage of their choice. Coffee for me thanks. What's
that? Yes, dark roast please.
I'm starting the process of removing some of the goodies from my Road
King before I trade it in. On the recent PBR run, I managed to ding
up my Tour Pak a bit. On the back I have some scratches and one rub
spot about the size of a Lima bean that has rubbed through down into
the fiberglass. I'm trying to decide if I should I go to the expense
and effort of fixing it or selling it as it is.
What would you do?
This is a silver '05 King Tour Pak with an LED spoiler, luggage rack,
and LED side lights on a solo detachable mount.

You will not recover the money spent in painting those blemishes on a
detachable tour-pak.
Ask a price that you would ask if the blemishes were not there. If they
complain, knock a couple hundred off, and that's still less than you
would have paid to get it fixed.

The cost to have it repainted (and look as good as new) might be spooky.
Sell as is (IMHO) so that the buyer can decide if they want the problems
repaired, or a totally different color.
If yer bike has "Character", let it show.

I only wear clear m'self. I think I'll spot putty the spot, lightly
block sand the back of the Tour Pak, color coat the spot with some
touch up paint I have, then clear coat the back. That's kinds fun,
easy, doesn't cost anything, and will make it look a lot better.
