Drink up, I'm buyin'. Shirley, spill some Kaluha in my coffee.
I ran into a strange situation.
I have repaired a bunch of TC bearing failures.
I did one yesterday and when I went to start it it had no compression in
the front cylinder (I did not diagnose it, I was given parts and shown
what was wrong by a broker).
Backed off the valve adjustment and verified. Then leaked it down and
found the front exhaust (bent?)leaking. I'm assuming the chain slipped
on the front cam retarding the cam and the piston crashed the valve.
First time I've seen or heard of this happening.
It is a salvage bike and was probably run more than it should have been
after the bearing failure or someone limped it home instead of towing it.
Makes me question things when I come across something new or different.
Anyone seen this happen?
