The NTSB just issued recommendations to all states to enact uniform
helmet requirements.

Probably, but the states are individually responsible for the laws
concerning thier roads, the federal government can not explicitely force a
state to enact a law. So, if the feds want it for real the guvmint could
withhold highway funds from states that don't comply, like they did with the
55 mph speed limit. Not much us plebes can do about it, if that happens.
I hate helmet laws but I wear a bucket anyway. The fact that I believe in
wearing a helmet gives me no right at all to make you do it, but if it comes
to pass; "Helmet Laws Suck. Drain Bamage Sucks Worser." - A. E. Neuman

Proud of Pennsylvania, where there's no helmet law and the DMV provides free
MSF courses to state residents.

I've been getting their shit in the mail since I turned 50, about six
years ago. Just threw it in the trash, as I didn't feel old enough to
join<g>. This summer was the first time I've traveled and used my age
to get a better rate on motels etc. Guess I'll be joining next time
they send me somthing.
Just for the discounts, you understand.
